The Role
We are seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the General Manager across all areas of the business, providing direct operational, commercial, and strategic support.
This is a hands\-on role at the centre of the organisation. You will work directly with senior leadership and gain broad exposure across all departments from the outset. You will be expected to take ownership of tasks, follow through to completion, and operate to a consistently high standard.
Operational \& Commercial Support
- Supporting the General Manager across all business functions including factory, technical, sales, finance, transport, purchasing, depot, retail shop, café, and marketing
- Coordinating tasks and ensuring actions are followed through across departments
- Monitoring operational performance and highlighting issues or inefficiencies
- Supporting implementation of process improvements and internal controls
- Preparing reports, analysis, and data to support business decision\-making
- Tracking key operational and commercial metrics
- Identifying trends, risks, and areas for improvement
- Taking ownership of delegated tasks and delivering them to a high standard
- Supporting day\-to\-day business operations as required
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Operating flexibly across both office and site environments
- Degree from a Russell Group or red\-brick university, or exceptionally strong A\-level results (A\*/A grades)
- Strong competency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data handling) and Microsoft Word (professional documentation and communication)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Intellectually capable, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Practical, adaptable, and prepared to work across a varied workload — from analytical tasks to on\-site operational support
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and drive
- Option to be funded through a recognised management or leadership qualification (e.g. CMI, ILM, or equivalent of your choice)
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and involvement in strategic decision\-making
- Comprehensive internal training across all areas of the business including operations, commercial, and compliance
- Clear trajectory for progression into a management role within a growing business
- Experience operating within a fast\-paced, multi\-department manufacturing environment
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (on\-site role)
- Immediate right to work in the UK is essential (no visa sponsorship)
Candidates will be required to complete a Thomas International behavioural assessment as part of our selection process, followed by an on\-site interview.
