Forklift Driver/Labourer

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver/Labourer to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating forklifts to handle materials efficiently and safely, alongside general labour duties. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of warehouse operations, ensuring timely loading, unloading, and storage of goods. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge is desirable, along with the ability to perform heavy lifting and basic maintenance tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience seeking a dynamic and hands\-on role.

Duties

• Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse


• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods


• Manage materials handling tasks using appropriate equipment and techniques


• Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults to maintenance teams


• Maintain organisation and cleanliness of the warehouse environment


• Support inventory management through stock organisation and cycle counts


• Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately


• Assist with general labour tasks such as moving goods manually when required


• Perform safety checks on forklift equipment before use and adhere to health \& safety regulations

Qualifications

• Valid forklift licence recognised by relevant authorities


• Experience working in a warehouse environment or similar setting


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems is advantageous


• Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is a plus


• Ability to handle heavy loads safely and efficiently


• Basic maths skills for inventory counting and measurement tasks


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail


• Physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving around the warehouse


• Prior experience in shipping \& receiving processes is desirable
