Fulfilment & Customer Service Assistant (Maternity Cover - up to 9 months)
Rat Race are looking for a Fulfilment \& Customer Service Assistant (Maternity Cover up to 9 months) with a passion for adventure to join our retail and ecommerce team.
Rat Race’s kit range is designed to help our customers take on epic challenges and provide a memento of their achievements from our events around the world. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organised and motivated, with a positive attitude and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
This is a hands\-on role combining warehouse operations, making sure orders are packed quickly and accurately, with email\-based customer support, ensuring our customers always enjoy a smooth shopping experience and admin assistance for our ecommerce team.
This is a fixed\-term maternity cover position, ideal for someone looking to make an immediate impact in a fast\-moving, adventure\-led business.
The role will be based at our office in Thirsk, working closely with our ecommerce team. You’ll also support our retail presence at UK events throughout the year.

Key Tasks Include
Order Fulfilment \& Warehouse Duties
- Picking and packing customer orders with accuracy and care.
- Operating the order and shipping system, printing labels and preparing parcels for dispatch.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and well\-organised.
- Assisting with stock handling, including deliveries, stock counts and restocking.
- Responding to customer enquiries via email in a friendly, professional manner.
- Assisting with questions about orders, deliveries, returns and product information.
- Resolving issues promptly or escalating to the Manager when needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of customer communications.
- Supporting the ecommerce and retail team with day\-to\-day tasks as required. This could include creating purchase orders, product set up and other admin tasks.
- Assisting with retail operations at Rat Race events.
- Supporting pop\-up retail stores at UK events and expos when required.
- Good standard of English – reading and writing is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong written communication skills for customer emails.
- Excellent attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
- Computer literate and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Organised and reliable, with a positive, can\-do attitude.
- Previous experience in warehouse, retail, or customer service is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
- An interest in adventure sports is a bonus.
- Full training will be provided on systems and processes.
