Are you technically minded, highly organised and experienced in fire testing, certification or passive fire protection?
An established and growing manufacturer is looking for a Fire Compliance \& Certification Engineer to support the testing, approval and ongoing compliance of its specialist product range. This is a varied role combining practical test preparation, technical documentation, CAD and liaison with external laboratories and certification bodies.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Engineers as well as capable Technicians ready to take the next step.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinating fire resistance and smoke\-control testing projects from initial preparation through to final certification
- Preparing samples, technical specifications, drawings and construction details for testing
- Working directly with accredited laboratories, test houses and certification bodies
- Maintaining test reports, assessments, certificates, technical data and supporting declarations
- Producing and updating 2D and 3D CAD drawings to reflect tested and approved configurations
- Supporting product audits, sampling exercises and certification reviews
- Advising internal design and product teams on compliance requirements
- Assessing whether proposed design or material changes could affect existing test evidence
- Monitoring relevant standards and helping to keep technical information accurate and current
- Supporting wider quality, change\-control and product\-development activities
- Experience or a strong understanding of fire testing and certification within construction, manufacturing or a related technical environment
- Knowledge of fire resistance and smoke\-control standards, ideally including BS 476, EN 1634 or relevant UL standards
- The ability to interpret technical standards, test evidence and certification scopes
- Experience dealing with test laboratories, certification bodies or third\-party approval schemes
- Competence using CAD to create or amend technical drawings
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation
- A methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and confidence managing several projects at once
