We are looking for a proactive and detail\-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing SaaS business. This is a varied role supporting the day\-to\-day financial operations of a subscription\-based company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and month\-end processes.
This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in finance within a fast\-paced, technology\-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting \& Compliance
- Responsible for all elements of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to include processing, validation and payment of vendor invoices, reconciliation of creditor and debtor ledgers to supplier/customer statements
- Raise customer invoices for subscriptions and professional services
- Support recurring billing cycles (monthly/annual contracts)
- Assist with credit control and chasing overdue invoices
- Complete month end procedures incorporating monthly reconciliation of accounts and month end statements
- Verify accuracy of Invoices and post transactions into the financial accounting system
- Responsible for reconciling and posting transactions for company credit cards
- Process all employee expenses and ensuring they are paid in line with agreed deadlines
- Preparation and filing of VAT return
- Preparation and filing of P11Ds return
- Complete monthly Bank Reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving supplier queries in a timely manner
- Preparing electronic payments for authorisation
- Maintain records through filing, storage cloud \& hard copy, compilation, coding and updating
- Complete Supplier vendor registration forms
- Performing other Finance Department duties that may arise from time to time
- Provide back up to team members during a period of absence
- Maintain and update employee records within HR systems (e.g. Personio), ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support onboarding processes, including preparation of contracts, offer letters, and new starter documentation
- Assist with offboarding processes, ensuring documentation and system updates are completed
- Administer employee benefits, including liaising with providers where required
- Support payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data and changes
- Manage and track employee leave records and absences
- Ensure HR documentation is filed and maintained in line with GDPR and company policies
- Assist with issuing HR communications and documentation to employees
- Provide general administrative support across HR activities as required
- Provide customer service support including order processing, administration and communications with internal and external customers/suppliers/partners
- Ensure that all customer queries – invoices, statements and payments etc. \- are resolved satisfactorily liaising as necessary with other areas
- Be positive and be willing to collaborate in proactively finding solutions to problems
- Assist with required reporting and year end audits as required
- Maintain financial controls and documentation
- Adhoc financial and management analysis
- Provide general support to Finance Manager/Team
Essential
- Previous Accounts Experience
- Excellent numeric, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Team worker with strong interpersonal and ability to communicate effectively at all levels in and outside the company
- Ability to multi\-task, skill in establishing priorities and managing workloads
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations or individuals
- Professional who is experienced and dependable with discretion, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- PC Expertise with proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Experience in a SaaS or subscription\-based business
- Familiarity with recurring revenue models
- Experience with cloud accounting systems (e.g., AccountsIQ, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification
- Analytical and commercially minded
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
