Electrical Estimator

Due to company expansion and growth Redlands Electrical Ltd are looking to hire an electrical estimator.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing team within an established electrical contractor. We offer a wide range of services including full commercial contracts and inspection and testing.

The scope of the role will be to complete quotations and tenders ranging from £1,000\-£750,000 and you will be involved in simultaneous projects. The role offers steady career progression, growth \& development.

What You'll Do:

• Carry out or support the team with electrical bids and tenders


• Produce and deliver accurate electrical and specialist quotations in line with specifications and drawings.


• Be able to offer value engineering options to meet budgets.


• Determining type, quantity, cost of materials and fixtures needed for each project


• Collaborating closely with internal and external engineers, consultants and subcontractors to construct and formulate estimates and resolve issues.


• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates.


• Be able to read drawings and carry off accurate takeoffs.


• Identify and provide alternative design proposals, solutions and value engineering options.


• Submit technical material submissions pre contract .


• Produce documentation for O\&M manuals.

Who You Are:

• Electrical related qualification \- trainee electrician looking to enhance their skills and progress into estimating.


• An experienced electrical estimator.


• Previous experience working with tender packages, ideally within the construction industry, would be a big plus


• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite


• AutoCAD knowledge would be advantageous but training will be given


• Ability to communicate and work with a wide range of people


• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines along with having a strong attention to detail.

We are looking for people to be based in the office to help maintain the atmosphere within the department and to bounce off of each other.
