Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Additional Support Worker (1:1\) to provide personalized assistance to children aged 2\-4 years with special educational needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with individual children to support their learning, development, and well\-being within an inclusive educational environment. Responsibilities

  • Deliver one\-on\-one support tailored to each student’s specific needs, including behavioral management and emotional encouragement

  • Assist students with daily activities such as mobility, personal care, and meal preparation to promote independence

  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of early years educators and specialists

  • Support students during activities, outings, and social interactions to ensure engagement and safety

  • Administer medication or first aid when necessary, following proper protocols

  • Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation

  • Maintain detailed records of student progress, incidents, and daily support activities to ensure clear communication with the team
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other special needs

  • Strong background in patient care, caregiving, or home care environments

  • Knowledge of senior care practices including hospice care and behavior management techniques

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and supporting mobility needs safely

  • Skills in meal preparation, medication administration, and basic first aid procedures

  • Valid driving license preferred for supporting transportation needs

  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to working with children and young adults requiring additional support

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and work collaboratively within a team setting
