Title: Diagnostic OPD Quality and Program Engineer
Department: FCSD – service engineering. Reporting to Quality Leader
Location: Dunton 3 days, WFH 2 days
Role Overview:
Service Engineering is responsible for the workshop manual (electronic) which is used by the technicians at dealerships to help them understand, diagnose and resolve problems with Ford vehicles. The service team produces this information on every new program. This role is being part of the Quality team that are service engineering’s ‘eyes and ears’. The quality team understands the status of what has been published to the dealerships and are bringing the status of this back to the engineers who have produced this data so we can enhance its effectiveness. Similar roles at Ford would be such as a warranty analyst for example.
Roles Responsibilities:
Able to analyse and manipulate data from various sources inc use of AI.
Make recommendations following data analysis and recommendations.
Collaborate with the diagnostic authors as to what’s been identified and needing resolution.
Work with diagnostic authors to ensure errors/misses are highlighted to them and resolved.
Obtain as requested high level information about upcoming programs to support the diagnostic authors in the understanding of changes on new programs.
Qualifications, Skills \& Experience:
Ability to work with a global team in various time zones
Program management skills, including knowledge of GPDS
Strong communication skill – both verbal and written
Familiar with vehicle electronics architectures
Familiar with vehicle mechanical architectures
Hands on vehicle repairing preferred
Strong problem solving skills
Clear written/verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
Ideally hands on experience servicing or repairing vehicles or similar products
Ideally knowledge of how a dealership service department operates
Good team player but also ability to focus and work alone to meet deadlines
