Dental Nurse Full Time
Job Overview
We are seeking a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our Orthodontic Practice in October 2026 Full time For Maternity Cover, 1 year, with a view to possibly upscaling to part time permanent at the end of the maternity cover.
Orthodontic experience is desirable, however we are happy to support and train general dental nurses in orthodontics. Radiography is a bonus but equally not essential. We would support you in gaining records and impression taking certificates.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high\-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional services. As a Dental Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring that our predominantly young patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment journey while maintaining a sterile and organised environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist / Ortho Therapist during various ortho procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Provide excellent patient care by reassuring patients, answering their questions, and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining a clean and sterile working environment.
- Manage appointment schedules, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling patient visits as necessary.
- Educate patients on post\-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote overall dental health.
- Be competent, compliant and confident using radiography equipment.
- A solid understanding of dental anatomy is essential for this role to effectively assist in dental procedures.
- Previous experience in general dental or orthodontics is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to provide compassionate support to patients during their visits.
- Familiarity with dental / ortho terminology and procedures will be advantageous in performing your duties efficiently. However training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with both patients and the dental team.
Pay: From £13\.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 39\.0 per week
