Day Centre Support Worker

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Day Centre Support Workers to provide exceptional care and support to our elderly and vulnerable clients. The role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and promoting independence. Candidates with experience in nursing homes, care homes, or home care settings are highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need of specialised support, including individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

Responsibilities

• Support with meal preparation and feeding as required


• Administer medication following prescribed care plans and protocols


• Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote socialisation and mental stimulation


• Monitor and record clients’ health status, behaviour, and progress


• Manage behaviour effectively using appropriate techniques and de\-escalation strategies


• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with care plans and legal requirements


• Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, using proper techniques


• Drive clients to outings safely using company vehicles when required


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care


• Uphold health and safety standards, including first aid procedures when necessary

Requirements

• Proven experience in senior care, dementia care, or caring for adults with additional needs is highly advantageous


• Strong understanding of care plans, behaviour management, and case management principles


• Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude towards clients of all ages and backgrounds


• Valid UK driving licence for transporting clients when needed


• Flexibility to work various shifts within a supportive team environment
