Job Summary
Mackadown Day Care Services Ltd is an organisation providing day care for adults who have a learning disability, sensory impairment and complex health care needs such as Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy. As most of our clients are wheelchair users, the role involves supporting those clients, which may include moving and handling tasks. Manual Handling training will be provided.
We work closely with our families, Local Authority Commissioners, Community Nurses, Dieticians and Physios for example to ensure the wellbeing of the Clients who attend our Day Service. Mackadown Daycare has been providing excellent care for over 20 years and are committed to providing our clients with the best care without compromise. The role of the Day Centre Manager is an autonomous, responsible and collaborative one.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8\-430pm. Place of work 221 Mackadown Lane; however you will be required to attend our other day centre (628 Chester Rd, B73 5JR) as is necessary as part of your role.
You will report to the Directors of the company and oversee the care of 12 clients.
Salary is negotiable and dependent on qualifications and experience in region of £30K to £37K.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in an initial Teams discussion. A second stage face\-to\-face interview will follow, if appropriate, which will include a short PowerPoint presentation.
The successful candidate will be subject to a pre\-placement health assessment and appropriate Safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS check where applicable.

Key responsibilities (not limited to the following):
- To effectively support and manage a staff team (9\) in all aspects of service delivery
- To oversee the delivery of person\-centred and high\-quality care to our Clients
- Effectively manage change and promote a positive workplace culture across both Day Centres
- Effective people management including performance and absence management
- To share knowledge, ensure best practice and deliver in\-house training (where appropriate)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation
- To work collaboratively with entire management team, contributing to the wider planning and delivery of services within the Day Centre
- To apply your sound knowledge of IT systems i.e. Outlook, Excel \& Word in the day\-to\-day service delivery
- Act as a point of contact for HR
- To network and engage with external agencies such as schools and Social Workers
- Conduct staff Supervision
- Prepare for and onboard new clients including home visits and completion of preparatory documentation
- Facilitate and participate in regular staff meetings
- Lead in client reviews with Social Workers
- Participate in Quality Assurance Inspections
- Conduct internal audits as required and oversee external audits i.e. H\&S
- Review and update all necessary documentation such as risk assessments and care plans for clients
- Development and review of staff health risk assessments
- Allocation of online training and organise face to face training
- Implementation and development of Day Centre policies and procedures and ensure adherence to Quality Assurance system
- Coordinate minor facilities management and contractor liaison
- Arrange servicing and maintenance of equipment i.e. hoists, slings, tail lifts
- Recruitment and induction of new staff
- Any other duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the role
