Credit Controller

Job Opportunity – Credit Controller at our Brentwood Depot

Broughton Plant Hire and Sales Ltd is looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident dealing with customers, enjoys working with numbers and has a strong eye for detail. You will play an important role in our credit control function and ensuring customer accounts are kept up to date.

Hours of work \- 8am\-5pm (office based)

Main duties and responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of customer accounts


• Monitoring outstanding debts and ensuring payments are received on time


• Contacting customers by telephone and email regarding overdue accounts


• Investigating and resolving account queries and payment issues


• Allocating payments and maintaining accurate customer records


• Producing regular aged debt reports


• Working closely with the accounts, sales and hire teams to resolve queries


• Agreeing payment arrangements where appropriate


• Escalating long\-outstanding or problematic accounts when required


• Supporting the wider finance team with general administrative duties

Key job requirements

• Has previous experience in a credit control or similar finance role


• Is confident communicating with customers at all levels


• Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills


• Is comfortable working to deadlines and managing their own workload


• Has a professional and persistent approach to collecting outstanding payments


• Is confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel


• Works well as part of a team


• Has a positive, practical and can\-do attitude
