Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor cost control strategies across various projects and departments.
- Analyse financial data to identify cost\-saving opportunities and optimise resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to establish budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Prepare detailed reports on cost performance, variances, and forecasts for senior management review.
- Maintain accurate records of resource expenditure and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
- Support the development of financial models to evaluate project viability and profitability.
- Provide guidance on cost\-related issues during project planning, execution, and review phases.
- Continuously review industry best practices related to cost management and incorporate improvements into organisational processes.
- Proven experience in cost control, financial analysis, or related roles within the Rail sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Excel, ERP systems, or specialised cost management tools such as Oracle.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non\-financial stakeholders.
- A proactive approach with strong problem\-solving capabilities.
- Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or business management are desirable but not essential.
