Care Worker.
Assist/enable with service users’ personal care. This may include, but is not limited
to, washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, shaving, oral hygiene, continence care,
meal preparation and assistance.
? Assist/enable service with mobility. This may include, but is not limited to, pushing
wheelchairs and transferring safely e.g. from bed to chair, utilising electronic
equipment such as hoists, stand aids and other equipment.
? Work in accordance with Care Plans through ongoing discussion with, and under
the direction from the Registered Manager and a variety of professional staff, to
promote independence by enabling, maintaining, improving and maximising the
individual’s functioning.
? Observe, record and report any factors that may present risk or cause deterioration
in the wellbeing of the service user.
? Be aware of relevant legislation, policies and any updates.
? Keep up\-to\-date and accurate records e.g. factual and eligible care plans.
? Promote person centred care, actively encouraging clients to make decisions
about their own lives wherever possible and interacting with service users
professionally and respectfully at all times.
? Treat all service users, families, staff and visitors with respect dignity and courtesy.
? Develop and maintain professional relationships with outside agencies, service
users’ families and any other key stakeholders.
? Contribute to, and support service users and staff during activities within the home
and the community.
? Attend and contribute to review meetings as appropriate.
? Attend staff meetings at least four times a year.
? Contribute to and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the home.
