Job Summary
PART TIME BAGGAGE HANDLING AGENTS \- FIXED TERM
We are currently offering a fixed term contract until 30 September 2026 with the possibility of an offer of a permanent contract at the end of this period.
We are seeking a dedicated Baggage Handler to join our team at our busy airport terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling and transporting passengers' luggage, ensuring safety and security standards are maintained throughout their shift. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where organisational skills and attention to detail are essential. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who thrive in fast\-paced settings and value punctuality.
Given the nature of this role, you must be available to cover the all shift times 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including Bank Holidays and religious festivals, day shifts and night shifts possible.
Duties
- Load and unload passenger baggage from aircraft, trolleys, and storage areas with care and precision.
- Ensure all luggage is correctly sorted, tagged, and transported to designated areas in a timely manner.
- Assist passengers with their baggage when required, providing courteous customer service.
- Follow safety protocols during the handling of luggage to prevent damage or injury.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of baggage handling equipment and work areas.
- Collaborate with team members to meet operational deadlines efficiently.
- Conduct analysis of baggage flow patterns to optimise handling processes and minimise delays.
- Must hold a valid Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Must be able to obtain and retain a full airside pass including a satisfactory criminal record check
- Must be able to lift baggage and cargo weighing up to 32kg
- Excellent time management skills to ensure luggage is handled promptly and efficiently.
- Strong analysis skills to identify potential bottlenecks or issues in baggage processing workflows.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
- Prior experience in logistics or baggage handling is advantageous but not essential.
