The hotels busiest periods are during the evenings and weekends, any specific working pattern requests can be discussed at interview.
The Role of the Assistant Reception Manager:
The Assistant Reception Manager supports the Reception Manager by supervising and engaging the Reception team, and assisting with the general running of the day\-to\-day Reception.
The ideal Assistant Reception Manager candidate will have:
- Minimum of one year’s hotel supervisory/management experience in a Hotel Reception
- Excellent personal presentation, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills
- Strong management and development skills
- Opera knowledge \- not essential as full training given
- Solid knowledge of hotel operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings according to the needs of the department
- Take responsibility for team work, leading, training and motivating team members
- Assisting with managing weekly rotas, considering holiday requests and training requirements
- Answering questions, dealing with complaint and queries
- Assisting with recruitment for new team members
- Supporting and coach team members to upsell
- Ordering change for the resort, and supplies for the Reception area
- Supporting with compliance with cash handing processes including counting of the safes and petty cash
- Attending HOD and function sheet meetings in the Reception Managers’ absence
- Assisting with keeping the Health \& Safety documentation up to date
- Overseeing the Reception teams’ development and ensuring compliance with processes
- Assisting with performance reviews with team members
- Leading Reception shifts and ensuring all activities and duties are completed to a high standard
- Liaise closely with other departments such as the housekeeping, F\&B and maintenance teams to ensure every guest experiences a consistent level of service
- Any other reasonable request by a member of the Management team
