• Job Purpose and Scope


• To ensure the effective planning, control, and availability of materials and inventory required to meet production schedules and customer requirements.


• 'Responsibilities'


• Establish, maintain and manage contract orders to ensure continuity of supply and customer requirements are met.


• Oversee customer\-owned stock, ensuring accurate stock records and effective inventory management.


• Understand the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to support production schedules and material availability


• Monitor and manage supplier performance, including on\-time delivery and service level compliance


• Management of excess and slow\-moving stock while monitoring expiry dates and date\-coded materials


• Identify and resolve material supply issues, including pricing discrepancies, critical material shortages or problem parts to minimise disruption to production.


• Cost of sales analysis


• Liaise closely with production, purchasing and sales, and suppliers to ensure material availability aligns with operational and customer demands


• Qualifications and Experience


• Essential


• Knowledge of the electronic industry, components and supply chain


• Purchasing and material control environment


• Computer literacy


• Desirable


• Supplier knowledge


• Purchasing environment within the electronics industry


• Component recognition, part numbering make up


• Contract set up experience


• Stock control


• Excel programs


• Good negotiations skills
