National Primary Care Operations Manager

Core Prescribing Solutions \- Bradford / Hybrid

Full\-time \| Monday to Friday \| 3 days office\-based, 2 days working from home

Primary Care is changing. Help us shape what comes next.

You’ve built your experience in Primary Care.

You’ve led teams, managed competing priorities and seen first\-hand what separates a service that simply functions from one that performs exceptionally.

Now imagine having the opportunity to influence that across Primary Care services nationally.

Clinical teams need the right support. GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) need trusted partners. Services need to perform. Standards need to remain high.

And ultimately, everything we do needs to contribute towards better outcomes for patients.

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an experienced National Primary Care Operations Manager to take a leading role in how Core Prescribing Solutions delivers clinical pharmacy and Primary Care services across the UK.

This isn’t simply about keeping operations running, this is about unlocking further value for a clients and taking the business to the next level.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead people, improve services, solve problems, work closely with Primary Care partners and help shape how we grow.

The opportunity

Core Prescribing Solutions is an award\-winning and rapidly growing healthcare organisation, working in partnership with GP practices and Primary Care Networks nationally to provide Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician services designed around the needs of Primary Care.

As we continue to grow, we need an experienced operations leader who understands what delivering services within Primary Care actually involves.

Someone who understands the pressures facing practices and PCNs on the front line.

Someone who knows that strong operational performance isn’t just about hitting a KPI \- it’s about giving clinical teams the structure and support they need to perform at their best.

And someone who can look at a service and ask:

How can we make this even better?

You’ll take ownership of day\-to\-day operations across our services, working closely with our clinical teams and senior leadership to deliver consistently high\-quality services across our client portfolio.

You’ll have a seat close to the decisions.

You’ll work closely with our Board, senior leadership and clinical leadership teams, contributing ideas, challenging how we work and helping shape our operational strategy as Core Prescribing Solutions continues to grow.

We want you to bring your experience to the table \- and have the confidence to use it.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply keep things running

We’re not looking for someone to inherit a set of processes and maintain the status quo.

We’re looking for someone curious enough to question how things work, experienced enough to know what great Primary Care operations look like and confident enough to make improvements happen.

You’ll need to balance the strategic with the practical.

One day that could mean analysing operational performance and identifying an opportunity to improve a service. Another could mean supporting a manager, meeting with a PCN, helping mobilise a new service or working with senior leadership on our future operational plans.

You’ll be expected to take ownership.

What you’ll make happen

You’ll have a broad remit with the autonomy to influence how our services operate and develop.

You’ll:

  • Lead day\-to\-day operations across our clinical and non\-clinical teams, creating consistency, accountability and high standards across our services.

  • Coach, support and develop our people, helping managers and clinical teams perform at their best.

  • Use KPIs, clinical data, dashboards, client feedback and service outcomes to understand performance and turn insight into action.

  • Work alongside clinical leadership to maintain strong clinical governance, quality assurance, audit, risk management and regulatory compliance.

  • Build trusted relationships with GP practices, PCNs, NHS stakeholders and other partners, ensuring we’re listening to and responding to the needs of Primary Care.

  • Lead workforce planning and support recruitment, training, development and performance management as our organisation continues to grow.

  • Support contract reviews, service development and the mobilisation of new Primary Care and clinical pharmacy services.

  • Identify operational challenges and opportunities, implement smarter ways to work and contribute to our wider operational strategy and growth.
Ultimately, you’ll help create the environment, structure and leadership our clinical teams need to deliver excellent services for Primary Care.

The numbers matter. But there’s a reason they matter.

Operational performance matters to us.

We’ll expect you to understand the numbers, challenge performance and use data to make better decisions.

But we never want to lose sight of what those numbers represent.

Behind every KPI is a service.

Behind every service are healthcare professionals trying to deliver their best work.

And ultimately, behind everything we do are patients relying on Primary Care.

That’s why operational excellence matters to us.

What could success look like?

We want you to make your mark on this role.

After your first 12 months, we’d hope you’ve:

  • Built strong relationships with our clinical teams and Primary Care partners.

  • Created greater visibility and accountability around operational performance.

  • Strengthened consistency and quality across our services.

  • Helped develop managers and build high\-performing teams.

  • Used data, feedback and your own experience to identify and implement smarter ways to work.

  • Strengthened our approach to workforce planning and development.

  • Helped successfully mobilise and develop new services as we’ve grown.

  • Made a meaningful contribution to our wider operational strategy.
We’re not expecting you to arrive with every answer.

We are expecting you to ask the right questions, understand what’s happening and take ownership of making things better.

You’ll probably recognise yourself here…

You’ve already built significant experience within Primary Care and understand how it operates beyond the theory.

You understand GP practices and Primary Care Networks, and you’re comfortable working with stakeholders across different levels of the NHS.

You’ve led healthcare teams at scale and know how to get the best from people while maintaining high expectations.

You’re comfortable working with operational data and KPIs, and you don’t just report numbers \- you use them to understand what’s happening, identify problems and decide what needs to happen next.

You’ll need to bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working within Primary Care.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Operations Management.

  • Experience leading healthcare and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience managing teams, workforce performance and service delivery at scale.

  • Previous experience managing at least 50 plus members of staff.

  • Strong knowledge of Primary Care and how PCNs operate.

  • Experience using KPIs and operational data to improve performance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder\-management skills.

  • The confidence to make decisions, solve problems and take ownership.
We’d also value experience or knowledge of:
  • The Primary Care Network DES.

  • GMS and PMS contracts.

  • Clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation.

  • Clinical governance.

  • NHS service delivery.

  • EMIS and SystmOne, including running and creating reports.

  • Mobilising or developing new healthcare services.

  • Working within a scaling healthcare organisation.
Previous NHS experience is highly desirable.

Most importantly, you’re proactive.

You don’t wait for somebody else to solve a problem.

You’ll be comfortable challenging existing ways of working, bringing new ideas to the table and then taking responsibility for making them happen.
