Year 6 Teacher

Inclusive and nurturing schools in the Tameside area are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join their welcoming and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to guide pupils through their final year of primary school, preparing them for KS2 SATs and ensuring they have the confidence, knowledge and skills needed for a successful transition into secondary education. The schools are looking for the right long-term fit, with the intention to offer a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Year 6 lessons across the upper KS2 curriculum, maintaining high expectations and standards for all learners.

  • Prepare pupils thoroughly for KS2 SATs, including targeted interventions, continual assessments and summative data entry.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, identifying next steps and providing personalised support to ensure every child reaches their highest potential.

  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where every learner feels valued and motivated.

  • Safeguard all pupils and promote their wellbeing throughout this important transition year.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Is passionate about supporting older primary pupils through a key milestone year.

  • Has a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, with experience preparing pupils for SATs.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication, behaviour management and organisational skills.

  • Holds a valid DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
