1, Wraparound Care Breakfast Club/After School Club Assistant

Maternity Cover for 12 months or until the substantive postholder returns, whichever is earlier

(Breakfast Club \- 5 Hours Per Week)

(After School Club – 6 \& 1/4 Hours Per Week)

£25,614\-£26,016 FTE pro rata (£6,661 \- £6,766 actual per annum)

To be responsible for the development and daily management of the Breakfast Club providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children. Work in partnership with parent and carers and to promote the well\-being of the children.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

· Be familiar with and comply with all the school’s policies and procedures especially those around safeguarding · Ensure that the school’s health and Safety Policy and Child Protection Procedures are adhered to. Liaise with the head teacher if there are any concerns regarding safety · Interact in a positive way with children, other members of staff and parents/carers · Provide refreshments ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met · Administer first aid when necessary and record any injuries in the accident book and notifying parents as and when necessary · Set up the play space, including moving furniture and play equipment · Ensure registration and consent forms are completed for each child and liaise with parent/carers as necessary · Record in the accident book any incident/accident and the action taken · Remind children of the Behaviour Policy and acceptable behaviour codes and if necessary complete behaviour forms, these will be used to discuss issues with parents/carers

Problem Solving, Creativity and Decision Making

· Oversee children during activity and refreshment time, taking part as appropriate · Instigate child\-centred play in a structured environment and relaxed atmosphere maintaining overall quality of care · Ensure that the environment where the children are playing is safe and stimulating · To assist with the collecting and returning of equipment.

Most activities will be undertaken within the school premises.
