Position Title: Workshop Manual Engineer

Duration: Contract \- 12 Months

Location: Whitley \- Coventry

\*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on\-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.\*

What To Expect:

• A Workshop Manual Engineer you are responsible for creation, and ongoing maintenance of Workshop Manual (WSM) content within TOPIx.


• WSM content should prioritise technician experience first, delivering accurate, and methodical processes that support efficient vehicle repair.


• The Workshop Manual Author works closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including:


• Workshop Manual Leads


• Product Engineering


• SERP


• Service Programme Leads


• TOPIx Commodity Leads


• Service Tooling


• Markets (NSCs)

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Creation of TOPIx WSM content


• Conduct virtual validation of procedures using CAD


• Conduct physical validation of procedures using prototype and production vehicles/units to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and repeatability.


• Identify, communicate repair and serviceability issues to the Clients' stakeholders, providing well\-reasoned proposals to support effective resolutions.


• Monitor, investigate, and resolve technician feedback submitted through TOPIx to continually improve WSM content and technician experience.

What You'll Need:

Essential:

• Knowledge of whole vehicle systems and understanding of the latest vehicle technologies


• Good communication, interpersonal skills


• Working experience of CAD 3DX, Vis Mock Up or other CAD tools


• Ability to prioritise the technician experience with discussions with the Clients' stakeholders


• Qualified vehicle technician

Desirable:

• Understanding of franchised retailer workshops


• Automotive serviceability knowledge


• UK Driving licence


• Knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)

Personal Profile:

• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and workshop processes (experience in franchised retail workshops highly desirable).


• Strong problem solving ability and a logical, process driven approach.


• Clear and persuasive communicator who can influence stakeholders and advocate for technician first solutions.


• A supportive, coaching oriented leader who can guide and upskill WSM authors.


• Confident managing workloads, setting priorities, and ensuring content quality.
