Job description
Position Title: Workshop Manual Engineer
Duration: Contract \- 12 Months
Location: Whitley \- Coventry
\*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on\-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.\*
What To Expect:
- A Workshop Manual Engineer you are responsible for creation, and ongoing maintenance of Workshop Manual (WSM) content within TOPIx.
- WSM content should prioritise technician experience first, delivering accurate, and methodical processes that support efficient vehicle repair.
- The Workshop Manual Author works closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- Workshop Manual Leads
- Product Engineering
- SERP
- Service Programme Leads
- TOPIx Commodity Leads
- Service Tooling
- Markets (NSCs)
- Creation of TOPIx WSM content
- Conduct virtual validation of procedures using CAD
- Conduct physical validation of procedures using prototype and production vehicles/units to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and repeatability.
- Identify, communicate repair and serviceability issues to the Clients' stakeholders, providing well\-reasoned proposals to support effective resolutions.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve technician feedback submitted through TOPIx to continually improve WSM content and technician experience.
Essential:
- Knowledge of whole vehicle systems and understanding of the latest vehicle technologies
- Good communication, interpersonal skills
- Working experience of CAD 3DX, Vis Mock Up or other CAD tools
- Ability to prioritise the technician experience with discussions with the Clients' stakeholders
- Qualified vehicle technician
- Understanding of franchised retailer workshops
- Automotive serviceability knowledge
- UK Driving licence
- Knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and workshop processes (experience in franchised retail workshops highly desirable).
- Strong problem solving ability and a logical, process driven approach.
- Clear and persuasive communicator who can influence stakeholders and advocate for technician first solutions.
- A supportive, coaching oriented leader who can guide and upskill WSM authors.
- Confident managing workloads, setting priorities, and ensuring content quality.
