Job Purpose
To lead the efficient running of warehouse operations while acting as the key link between the warehouse and customer service teams. This role ensures accurate administration, smooth communication, team coordination, and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership \& Operations Support
Lead and oversee daily operations within the warehouse team.
- Coordinate the daily picking, packing, and dispatch workflows.
- Ensure all administrative and operational processes comply with company procedures.
Ensure accurate maintenance of stock records and inventory systems.
- Oversee and assist with returns to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
- Direct and assist with stock counts and routine audits.
- Monitor, investigate, and report any stock discrepancies.
- Act as the main point of contact and escalation between the warehouse and customer service teams.
- Provide timely updates on order statuses, delays, and stock availability.
- Resolve customer queries and issues related to deliveries, shortages, or damages.
- Coordinate and prioritize urgent orders to ensure critical deadlines are met.
- Support complaint resolution by providing timely and accurate information to relevant teams.
- Maintain strong, effective communication with all internal departments.
- Provide clear direction, support, and accountability to Supervisors, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and standards
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including goods in, picking, packing, dispatch, and specialist areas (e.g. samples and panels)
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health \& safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor KPIs (e.g. productivity, accuracy, service levels) and take timely corrective action where required
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence across all levels of the team
- Lead resource planning, including labour allocation, shift planning, and absence management
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation across all warehouse areas
- Act as a key communication link between warehouse management and the wider operational team
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with experience leading or managing Supervisors
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead through others
- Ability to motivate teams and drive performance in a fast\-paced, target\-driven environment
- Good understanding of warehouse processes and operational KPIs
