Warehouse Supervisor
Job Summary
We are looking for a confident and organised Warehouse Operations Supervisor to lead the warehouse at our Latham Close and Brinksway sites. Simon Charles is a busy, growing auction house, and every week thousands of lots are booked in, processed, viewed, sold and sent out to customers. In this role you will lead and develop the warehouse team, make sure every sale runs smoothly from putaway to dispatch, and keep health \& safety standards high. Duties
- Lead, supervise and motivate the warehouse team across both sites, with a particular focus on weekend performance.
- Train and develop warehouse operatives, and drive the speed and efficiency of the processing teams.
- Make sure all putaway is completed before each sale, so the warehouse runs without disruption.
- Keep both sites clean, tidy and well organised.
- Manage the Friday viewing period and any additional viewings.
- Track and improve KPIs for dispatch speed and customer collection messages.
- Reduce missing and damaged items, both in the warehouse and in transit, to keep refunds to a minimum.
- Carry out daily fire checks, report on them at the weekly Monday meeting, and act as a designated Key Holder.
- Champion health \& safety, making sure the team follows our Code of Conduct and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Handle customer queries and tickets promptly, and cover for senior colleagues when they're away.
- Attend disciplinary meetings and take accurate notes when needed.
- Spot and suggest ways to improve productivity and workflow.
- Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics or operations role with supervisory or team leader responsibility.
- The ability to lead a team effectively while handling several priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
- A good working knowledge of health \& safety in a warehouse setting.
- Confidence working to KPIs and targets, and an understanding of how daily activity affects the business's financial and processing goals.
- Strong communication skills and a customer\-first attitude.
- Good organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem\-solving.
- Flexibility to stay past your usual finish time during busy periods, such as heavy or late incoming stock.
Pay: £14\.00\-£15\.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40\.0 per week
