Warehouse Operative – Furniture Logistics
The Role
This is a hands\-on role within a busy furniture logistics warehouse environment.
*Duties will include:*
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Picking and preparing customer orders.
- Scanning and processing stock movements.
- Organising warehouse locations and stock storage areas.
- Assisting with goods\-in and goods\-out activities.
- Maintaining stock accuracy.
- Completing relevant paperwork and system records.
- General warehouse housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Assisting with inventory and stock control activities.
- Supporting the wider warehouse operation as required.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Good level of physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual handling activities.
- Ability to safely handle large furniture products.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Furniture handling experience.
- Counterbalance FLT Licence.
- Reach Truck Licence.
- Experience using warehouse scanners or PDA devices.
- Experience working within a logistics or distribution environment.
*This is not a parcel\-picking role.*
A significant part of this position involves handling large furniture items including sofas, chairs, tables and cabinets. Applicants must be comfortable undertaking regular manual handling activities as part of their day\-to\-day responsibilities. Full training will be provided, however a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
