Warehouse Operative

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling chilled food goods in a chilled environment at 1\.5°c, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills further and contribute to a well\-organised supply chain. The position involves load/unload operations, requiring attention to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Handling chilled goods across various stages of storage, picking, packing, and despatch


• Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently


• Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records


• Assisting receiving activities, including checking goods in and out


• Picking and packing orders accurately according to customer specifications


• Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation


• Applying mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary


• Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards


• Loading and unloading lorries safely, adhering to health and safety regulations


• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times

Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for all necessary equipment and systems


• Familiarity with materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous


• Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse machinery is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications are a plus


• Knowledge of loading and unloading operations, picking and stock management practices is beneficial


• Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of equipment maintenance can be advantageous


• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock control and order fulfilment
