We're looking for Waking Nights Support Workers to join our team in Shrewsbury, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and acquired brain injuries in supported living.

You don't need previous care experience. If you're kind, patient, reliable, calm and genuinely want to help people, we'll give you the training and support you need.

What does a Waking Nights Support Worker do?

You'll remain awake and alert throughout your shift, providing support whenever it's needed.

This could include:

• Providing reassurance and emotional support


• Supporting people with their night\-time routines


• Responding to requests for support during the night


• Supporting with personal care where required


• Monitoring people's health and wellbeing


• Carrying out agreed checks and observations


• Following individual support plans


• Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches


• Supporting people who may experience anxiety, distress or difficulties sleeping


• Maintaining a safe, calm and comfortable environment


• Completing night\-time records and reporting any concerns


• Responding appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations


• Promoting people's dignity, choice, privacy and independence

Some nights may be quiet, while others may be busier. You'll need to be comfortable working independently and staying calm and alert throughout the night.

Do I need experience?

No.

Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Personal Assistant or in social care is useful, but it isn't essential.

We're also interested in people with experience in healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, customer service, mental health services, community work or volunteering.

The role

Location: Shrewsbury – supported living

Pay: £13\.50 p/h

Contract: Full\-time, Part\-time, Permanent \& Bank

Shifts: Waking nights

Weekends: Alternate weekends are required for contracted roles
