UK General Haulage Transport Planner

Job Summary:

Online Roadways is a successful family run haulage company that has been based in the Dagenham/Chadwell Heath area since 1983\.

We looking for a confident and reliable individual to join our team as an planner in this sector.

This role supports the Senior Traffic Operator in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transport services and delivering an exceptional experience to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated fleet of drivers and vehicles, varying from Luton Vans to curtain sided Artics


• Support all aspects of customer transport requirements.


• Verbally communicate with drivers in both a confident and effective manner


• Build and schedule loads as needed to meet service expectations.


• Ensure all transport activities meet customer lead time and delivery standards.


• Provide our customers with both proactive and reactive support via phone and email in a timely manner as and where needed.


• Accurately input job details into our logistics software with acute attention to detail.


• Provide cover for key team members during absences (training will be provided).


• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and operational needs.

• Experience in the Road Haulage or Transport Planning industry.


• Good command of the English language


• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.


• Proven experience managing vehicles and drivers in a high\-pressure environment


• Have a strong confident phone manner


• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Office with excellent attention to detail.


• Able to work independently, as a team, under pressure, and show initiative.


• Strong problem\-solving skills with the ability to adapt transport plans quickly.


• Understanding of EU driver hours and transport regulations.


• Ability to be quick thinking in a dynamic environment.
