Transport Planner

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail\-oriented Transport Planner to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transportation routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication across all supply chain operations. Duties

• Develop and optimise transportation routes to ensure efficient delivery schedules


• Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to facilitate smooth operations


• Monitor delivery progress and resolve any logistical issues promptly


• Utilise management software and IT tools such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word to plan and track shipments


• Analyse supply chain data to identify areas for improvement


• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and communicate updates effectively


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during transportation activities


• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client queries related to deliveries


• Lead or support team initiatives aimed at enhancing logistical efficiency

Qualifications

• Proven experience in management, logistics, or supply chain roles is desirable


• Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and IT literacy in general


• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal


• Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail


• Ability to analyse data effectively and make informed decisions


• Customer service experience is advantageous


• Computer literacy combined with knowledge of logistics management systems is essential
