Job Summary
The Transport Administrator plays a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the transport function through accurate administration, coordination, and issue resolution. The role ensures all transport\-related activities, data, and customer interactions are managed in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and operational deadlines.
Working closely with transport, warehouse, and customer service teams, the successful candidate will ensure effective communication, accurate record keeping, and timely resolution of issues in a fast\-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to customer queries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
Manage and prioritise personal and shared inboxes
Liaise with internal teams (transport, warehouse, customer service) to resolve issues efficiently
Maintain accurate system updates relating to delivery issues, shortages, and discrepancies
Manage booking\-in processes and ensure transport providers are informed
Ensure all transport\-related records are accurate and up to date
Complete customer billing in line with agreed SLAs and discrepancy codes
Support month\-end and period\-end processes
Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation is returned within SLA timelines
Work with transport providers to ensure POD compliance
Arrange transport uplifts and ensure completion to customer satisfaction
Identify discrepancies and follow through to resolution
Resolve delivery and collection issues efficiently
Proactively identify and escalate issues in a timely manner
Requirements
Essential Skills \& Experience
Experience in transport administration, logistics, or a similar operational support role
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
Ability to work in a fast\-paced, deadline\-driven environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Problem\-solving mindset with a proactive approach
Customer\-focused with a professional and courteous manner
Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
Positive attitude and strong team player
Desirable
Experience within logistics, transport, or FMCG environments
