We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Chef to work in our Beaumont Lodge Transitional Care Unit location on Full Time permanent basis.

Head Chef / Director of Nursing / Catering Manager
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To maintain and manage the required high operational and personal standard of hygiene and presentation at all times in compliance with the Food Safety Act.
- Compliance to the Health and Safety Act and COSHH regulations.
- The preparation, cooking and service of food as directed by the chef in charge, whilst complying to the food safety act, portion control and presentation standards.
- Ensure the correct disposal and storage of all food items as directed by the chef in charge.
- Monitor and record temperatures of fridges and freezers, hot cabinets, serveries as directed by the chef in charge.
- Ensure that assured safe catering principals are followed at all times encompassing legal requirements of the Food Safety Act To ensure that working areas are kept clean and tidy adopting a “clean as you go” policy.
- To ensure that all foods served under your control are served and held at the required temperatures (probed and recorded).
- Ensure that decanting methods and fridge discipline are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained as directed by the chef in charge.
Hygiene and Appearance
- Familiarize yourself with the Food Hygiene Manual and follow the standards stipulated.
- Wear enclosed, non\-slip, clean black shoes \& clean clothing at all times while on duty.
- Wear minimal make\-up and fragrance. Long hair to be tied back or worn up and covered with hair net. No jewelry with the exception of a plain (no stones) wedding band.
- Report any illness or symptoms of food poisoning or food\-borne disease immediately to the Head Chef to safeguard the health of others.
- Ensure any cuts / broken skin is covered with blue, waterproof dressings.
- Ensure thorough and frequent handwashing.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene requirements before and after using the toilet accommodation.
Job Types: Permanent, Full\-time
Pay: €14\.15\-€16\.15 per hour
