Therapeutic Senior Residential Care Worker
Waypoint Care is seeking a warm, dedicated, and experienced Therapeutic Senior Residential Care Worker to help lead our 3\-bed children’s home in Doncaster. This is an opportunity to be part of a nurturing team that provides life\-changing care for children and young people with complex needs and past trauma. The role involves 10 x 24\-hour shifts per month, offering a consistent and impactful presence in the lives of the children.

Your Role \& Relationships
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will take an active role in both caring for the children and supporting the team. You’ll provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to Residential Support Workers, helping them build the skills and confidence to offer the highest standard of care. You’ll report directly to the Deputy Manager and Manager and work collaboratively within a strategic, therapeutic team. Your insights and leadership will help shape care plans and ensure that each child receives the support they truly need.
What You'll Be Doing
Support:
- Help children develop essential life skills, emotional strength, and social confidence.
- Plan engaging activities that foster self\-esteem and a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate with our therapy team, educators, and social workers to create tailored care plans.
- Adjust plans as needed to reflect each child’s journey and evolving needs.
- Support children through difficult moments with compassion and skilled de\-escalation.
- Foster a calm, secure environment where children feel safe and valued.
- Oversee daily operations with care and professionalism.
- Offer mentoring and supervision to junior team members, helping them grow in confidence and skill.
- Be a strong advocate for the children’s voices, choices, and rights.
- Maintain warm, respectful relationships with families and professionals involved in the children’s lives.
- Ensure our home operates to the highest standards, meeting all legal and ethical requirements.
- Keep clear, thorough records to support continuity of care and wellbeing.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people through trauma and healing.
- Previous experience in a residential care setting or working with children in complex situations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and offer a stabilizing presence.
- A team spirit and a nurturing heart.

Pay: £35,952\.00 per year
