Responsibilities
- Own the complete transformation of conductive filaments into finished heating fabrics.
- Lead woven fabric design using rapier looms, including electrode yarn integration and defining heating filament density/patterns such as variable\-density zebra designs.
- Execute post\-treatment processes including heat setting, impregnation, and coating.
- Manage lamination processes using TPU film, CoPES web, and CoPA adhesives via calendaring and hot press.
- Organize and manage weaving and lamination trials at partner sites across NL, IT, BE, and FR.
- Optimize weaving parameters and develop robust heat\-setting protocols for PP/PES fabrics.
- Evaluate and optimize fabric cutting methods, including laser and rotary die\-cutting.
- Perform comprehensive fabric characterization, including electrical resistance mapping, peel strength, wash resistance, and dimensional stability.
- Collaborate and coordinate closely with the polymer engineer, application engineer, and the CTO.
- The candidate has held the job title Textile Process Engineer or its equivalent, with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- The candidate must hold an MSc in Textile Engineering, Technical Textiles, Materials Science, or an equivalent degree.
- The candidate should have 3 to 6 years of experience in woven fabric development, technical textiles, or textile finishing.
- The candidate must have hands\-on experience with woven structures and loom technology, with a preference for rapier looms.
- The candidate must have an understanding of lamination and bonding processes.
- The candidate must have experience in fabric characterization.
- The candidate must have the ability to manage external manufacturing partners.
- The candidate must be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate preferably speaks the French language.
- The candidate must hold a valid driver's license.
- The candidate must already have the right to work in the European Union (EU) or Luxembourg, as visa sponsorship and relocation are not provided.
- The candidate preferably has experience with conductive or heated textiles, electronic textiles (e\-textiles), smart fabrics, heat setting, coating, automotive textile requirements, and TPU, CoPES, or CoPA adhesives.
- The candidate must be located in or willing to commute to Bissen, Luxembourg.
- The candidate possesses project management experience utilizing Agile or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- The candidate has experience working in a fast\-paced deep\-tech startup environment.
