Telephone Account Manager

In terms what we do, we provide our independent and national account customers with a next day delivery service, picked from our own warehouses (4\) and delivered primarily on our own fleet. This drives customer loyalty and ensures the long\-term success of the business and with over 200 suppliers and 10,000 products servicing over 2000 customers. This is a complicated undertaking that requires careful and detailed planning supported by excellent team management and strict adherence to processes and rules.
To support this, we are looking to strengthen our success by appointing an experienced Telephone Account Manager to join our Customer Service Team.
The purpose of the role is to manage a portfolio of accounts that are either House accounts or lapsed spenders and grow sales across these accounts through regular contact and working with the customer to understand their business and grow our products into their business. You will manage sales of approx. £1\.5m.
*Job Description:*
· Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with house account customers to generate new business and grow their business with particular focus on own brand/exclusive brands.
· Regular contact with your customers via phone \& email at least once per month
· Proactively contact lapsed customers to understand the reasons for none spend and ways to re\-engage with them and get them spending again
· Build and strengthen customer relationships to achieve long\-term partnerships
· Research sources for developing existing customers and for information to determine their potential.
· Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for prospective customers
· Review house account sales data ensuring business targets are met including sales, GP and own brand %.
· Develop a thorough understanding of our products and service offerings to better upsell and cross\-sell to customers aligning with company strategy each period
· Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, and logistics
· Driving sell\-in of new products to new customers by working closely with the BDM team
· Recommending POS, training, and other ways to help grow customer business.
· Manage appropriate handoff process either to BDM or retain as house account
· Generate progress reports for sharing with the business
· Attend monthly sales meetings
· Supporting the Telesales \& Customer Services Manager and overall business as required.

Pay: £25,000\.00\-£28,000\.00 per year
