A leading Top 50 accountancy firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Investigations Director to join its growing tax team in Hertfordshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Tax Investigations specialist who wants to combine technical expertise with genuine business development responsibility and play a key role in growing the firm's Tax Investigations offering.
You'll advise on complex HMRC investigations, tax disputes, COP8/COP9 cases, disclosures, penalties and settlements, while also developing client relationships, generating new opportunities and helping shape the future direction of the team.

The role •
Lead complex and high-value HMRC investigations and tax disputes

• Advise HNWIs, individuals, OMBs and businesses


• Handle COP8/COP9, disclosures, penalties and settlements


• Develop and maintain senior client relationships


• Actively contribute to business development and winning new work


• Build relationships with professional intermediaries and referral sources


• Help grow the firm's Tax Investigations offering


• Mentor and develop junior members of the team

About you •
Significant experience within Tax Investigations / Tax Disputes

• Strong knowledge of HMRC investigations and processes


• Experience handling complex and high-value cases


• Strong technical understanding of COP8/COP9


• Commercially minded with a genuine appetite for BD


• Confident developing relationships and generating new opportunities


• Able to operate at Director level while remaining technically hands-on
