Warwick Sport is looking for a Swim Co\-ordinator to help lead our Learn 2 Swim programme — a thriving, 7\-day operation that teaches children aged 4–14, teenagers, and adults to swim with confidence. Alongside our core lessons, you'll oversee crash courses, adult lessons, and 1\-1 teaching, making sure every swimmer in your sessions is progressing, supported, and enjoying the water.
This is a hands\-on role for someone who loves teaching but is ready to step up. You'll be on poolside delivering high\-quality lessons yourself, while also taking responsibility for the shape and success of the programme on your day. You'll line manage a team of swim teachers (8 teachers split across 2 Co\-ordinators), mentor them through observations and feedback, and play a key part in their development.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and delivering swimming lessons aligned with the Swim England National Plan, for swimmers of all ages and abilities
- Leading a team of swim teachers — inducting new starters, mentoring existing staff, managing 1\-2\-1s, PDRs, sickness, and annual leave
- Overseeing the structure, attainment, and progress of swimmers in your sessions
- Setting up new swimmers on the system, tracking progress, and liaising with parents on everything from development milestones to SEND conversations
- Working with the membership team to follow up on non\-payers and supporting retention across the programme
- Keeping the swim resource inbox, tablets, and lesson plans up to date
- Helping with set\-up and pack\-down, and contributing to a safe pool environment alongside the wider Operations team
- Delivering staff training roughly every two months, and attending your own regular training
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A full UK\-recognised Level 2 Teaching Qualification (STA or Swim England)
- Experience working with children in a learning environment
- A proven track record within a swimming programme
- Experience working as part of a team
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Confidence using tablet\-based assessment technology
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the Swim England assessment criteria
- An understanding of equality and diversity
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to use your own initiative
- Level 2 covering all stages of the Swim England Award Scheme (SEQ Level 2 or STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming)
- Additional CPD (Coaching Swimming, Water Polo, Ducklings, Adult and Child, etc.)
- A relevant safeguarding qualification
- Experience teaching swimmers with additional needs
- Experience in a busy leisure environment, or leading children's physical activity / Learn to Swim programmes
