The Role
Our Graham House service is Ofsted registered and provides 24/7 support to 10 young people 16\+. We support young people to strive for independence through tenancy training, education and employment in partnership with social care. Our support is tailored to individual needs and risks and our team share a passion for making a difference in young peoples life journeys.
Our support worker (nights) work as part of our wider team to offer trauma informed support to young people from 16\-30 across our young people accommodation services in North Somerset.
Working covering 13 support hours per week leading into 2 overnight sleep in shifts on a rolling rota.
As part of a wider service in North Somerset,which includes young parents and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children our staff work across all services offering out of hours support to those buildings not staffed 24/7\.
What you’ll be doing
- Working with us to ensure we meet Ofsted Standards for our supported housing services
- Working with us to meet the needs of our young people
- Ensuring that all safeguarding concerns are responded to appropriately and actions taken to safeguard our residents and manage risks
- Supporting us in the co production of our service development
- Keeping concise electronic records on a variety of databases and systems.
- Relevant experience and passion for supporting young people
- Strong desire to improve the lives of young people
- Experience of a variety of software systems
- Values\-driven approach aligned to our mission
- Ability to work flexibly to cover a 24/7 rota as part of our team
- A current UK driving licence, access to a car and willingness to travel to other sites in North Somerset as required.
- Willingness to complete SAH core training and induction programme within agree timescales
- Willingness to attend continued training both internal and external training and travel to accommodate.
This role is based within our North Somerset Services and includes an overnight sleep\-in shift which is paid an hourly sleep\-in rate in addition to contracted support hours.
The role will include lone working hours. The role is required to cover hours as per the following 4 week rolling rota
Week 1: Saturday 4\.30pm\-11pm \+ sleep in until 8 am, Sunday Handover 8\-8\.30am4\.30pm \-11pm \+ sleep in until, Monday Handover 8\-8\.30am
Week 2: Wednesday 4\.30pm\- 11pm \+sleep in until 8am Thursday Handover 8\-8\.30am, Saturday 4\.30pm\- 11pm \+ sleep in until 8am, Sunday Handover 8\- 8\.30am
Week 3: Saturday 4\.30 \-11pm \+ sleep in until 8am, Sunday Handover 8\-8\.30am, Sunday 4\.30\-11pm \+ sleep in until 8am, Monday Handover 8\-8\.30 am
Week 4: Tuesday 4\.30\-11pm \+ sleep in until 8am, Wednesday Handover 8\-8\.30am, Friday 4\.30\-11 pm \= sleep in until 8am, Saturday Handover 8\-8\.30am
