We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs within a busy and rewarding respite care setting. This role provides an opportunity to make a real difference by helping individuals enjoy short breaks in a safe, supportive, and person-centred environment.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Provide personal care while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
- Support individuals with daily living activities and routines.
- Assist service users to access social, recreational, and community-based activities.
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Support emotional wellbeing and encourage independence wherever possible.
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and best practice standards are maintained at all times.
- Minimum 6 months' experience working as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, or within a similar care setting.
- Personal care experience is essential.
- Moving and Handling experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism, or complex needs would be highly beneficial and a distinct advantage.
- Experience working within a residential or respite care setting.
- Enhanced DBS certificate.
