About the Role:
We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join a network of leading care providers in Chesterfield and surrounding areas on a temporary basis. In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with a range of needs, helping them to live independently, safely, and with dignity. You will play a key role in promoting choice, inclusion, and wellbeing while providing person\-centred support tailored to each individual’s needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting individuals with daily living tasks and routines.
- Assisting with personal care where required.
- Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and behaviours that may challenge.
- Managing challenging behaviours in a calm, safe, and professional manner.
- Promoting independence and encouraging service users to achieve personal goals.
- Supporting individuals in the community, including appointments and social activities.
- Assisting with meal preparation and household tasks.
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any concerns.
- Supporting individuals with medication where trained and required.
- Following care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
- Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and other support staff.
- Adhering to safeguarding, health \& safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a support work or care setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, complex needs, or behaviours that may challenge.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a safe and professional manner.
- A caring, compassionate, and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach, sensitive to the needs of service users.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Medication training is beneficial but not essential.
- PMVA/MAPA training is beneficial but not essential.
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred as you may be expected to travel between different care clients and community settings.

Pay Rate: £14\.24 to £16 per hour (including holiday pay) dependent on client, location \& shift type.
Employment Type: Ongoing temporary / agency role.
