Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker/Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high\-quality care and support to individuals in care homes or within their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to residents' needs, and demonstrate a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in their care. Previous experience in care settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management

  • Support individuals in accordance with personalised care plans, ensuring their needs and preferences are met

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals

  • Encourage social interaction and participation in activities to promote wellbeing

  • Assist with domestic tasks including light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation

  • Document care provided accurately and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to senior staff

  • Adhere to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures

  • Support individuals with mobility issues by assisting with transfers and using appropriate equipment
Qualifications
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes

  • Driving licence is desirable but not essential; flexibility to travel may be required depending on the role

  • Experience working within a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not mandatory

  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
