Beam saw Operator/ Wood machinist

A rapidly expanding manufacturer of healthcare cabinets and work\-surfaces seeks an experienced Beam Saw Operator based at our factory in Clevedon. Candidates will ideally have over 2 years experience using beam saws or in a similar wood machinist role, preferably from a joinery/furniture background. Candidates from other backgrounds will also be considered.

This is a very important role within the factory and vital to our efficiency in manufacturing. The role demands diligence and a clear acceptance of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC beam saw and cut materials accurately to the instructions on the computer.


• Select the correct type of blade to the material, send blades out weekly for re\-grind.


• Follow the process, identify material and label accurately to ensure traceability of all materials.


• Complete all paperwork correctly with each job.


• Help organising the factory, safe stocking of materials and organising offcuts.


• Recycle off cut materials and deal with waste.


• Maintain and clean the saw area weekly.


• Training will be given on operating all machines plus materials

• Experience working in a production / manufacturing environment


• Competent IT user.


• Previous experience with furniture production preferred.


• Ability to work within a fast paced environment.


• Good technical skills and attention to detail.


• Good work ethic and positive attitude to join a growing manufacturing team.


• FLT license preferred.

There may be other duties required according to need. These will normally be directed to you.

Hours: 08:00 \- 16:30, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Good rates of pay for the right candidate depending on skills and experience; 22 days holiday PA plus bank holidays.

Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: £13\.00\-£15\.00 per hour
