What’s the role?
As Subject Manager, Data Analytics and Risk, you will shape forward\-looking, practical and engaging learning content that helps ICAS students turn data into insight, solve real business problems and make ethical, evidence\-based decisions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about data, risk, technology and professional education, and who wants to play a meaningful role in developing the skills of future business and finance leaders.
You will bring strong data analytics, insight and reporting expertise, alongside experience gained in accountancy, business, finance, risk, technology or a related professional environment. In this role, you will own and develop subject content that supports students working towards the ICAS Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, as well as wider professional learning.
You will ensure our syllabus and learning content are current, relevant and high quality, supporting students to use data, analytics and business\-intelligence tools with confidence, ethical awareness, and professional judgement.
Working closely with tutors, digital content colleagues, assessment specialists and external stakeholders, you will support a digital\-first approach to learning that is clear, engaging and assessable, helping students build the technical knowledge, confidence and practical skills they need to succeed in today’s business environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own and manage the data analytics and risk syllabus and subject content, including annual updates and longer\-term roadmap planning.
- Develop and improve learning and assessment content, ensuring it is current, accurate, engaging and aligned to syllabus requirements.
- Work with the learning content team, tutors and assessment colleagues, to support effective course build, assessment alignment and digital\-first delivery.
- Ensure content reflects key data analytics themes, including business problem\-solving, data preparation, modelling, Power BI, analytics, visualisation and data storytelling.
- Promote the ethical and effective use of data, including considerations around bias, governance, data protection and professional judgement.
- Use performance data, student feedback and stakeholder insight to drive continuous improvement.
Strong experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, dashboard development and insight generation.
- Experience using Power BI or similar tools to prepare data, build models and present clear dashboards.
- Good understanding of finance, risk or professional education environments, with the ability to identify implications for syllabus and content development.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear recommendations and measurable improvements.
- Strong understanding of analytical techniques, data quality, data protection, bias and ethical data use.
- Ability to use student performance data, feedback and stakeholder insight to drive continuous improvement in learning content.
- Holds a Chartered Accountancy Qualification or an equivalent professional qualification (SCQF Level 11/Masters level), alongside strong data analytics expertise.

Pay: £50,000\.00\-£65,750\.00 per year
