Hours: 22\.5 hours per week

Pay: Pro\-rata based on 22\.5

Location: South Yorkshire and surrounding areas – clinic and community settings

Reports To: Imogen Satur and Becky Hurst (Directors)

Job Purpose

We are looking for a therapist with a minimum of 5 years' paediatric experience who is confident managing complex speech, language and communication needs independently.

The Speech and Language Therapist will deliver high\-quality assessment and intervention services for children and young people, both in clinic and community settings. This includes direct therapy, parent coaching, and collaborative working with families and professionals. The role operates under the direction of the company’s directors, ensuring care is child\-centred and reflective of company policies and standards. The candidate will also provide mentoring to more junior members of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver assessments, individual therapy sessions, and group interventions within a child\-centred, play\-based framework.

  • Develop, implement, and review personalised therapy plans tailored to children’s needs.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to parents and carers to support progress outside therapy sessions.

  • Collaborate with schools, nurseries, and other professionals to support consistency and generalisation of therapy targets.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and company standards.

  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development as required.

  • Adhere to company policies regarding client communication, confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional conduct.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) registered with the Health \& Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in home and nursery/school settings.

  • At least 5 years clinical experience.

  • Knowledge of child development, play\-based approaches, and family\-centred practice.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including parent coaching.

  • Car driver – essential (valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits).

  • Experience working with complex client presentations such as non\-verbal Autism.
Strongly Desirable
  • Experience with and knowledge of Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) and related informed approaches. Experience with specialist language profiles.

  • Experience in private practice or early years/community settings.
Terms and Conditions
  • Hours: 16 hours per week across 2 days (flexible / as agreed with Directors).

  • Pay: To be negotiated depending on therapist experience, we endeavour to pay in line with NHS banding.

  • Location: South Yorkshire and surrounding areas \- clinic (Sheffield based) and community visits.

  • Annual leave: Accrued based on hours worked.

  • Sick pay: Paid in accordance with UK employment law.

  • Maternity/paternity pay: Paid in accordance with UK employment law subject to eligibility.

  • Probationary period: 6 months

Additional Notes
  • This role requires flexibility to travel across South Yorkshire and surrounding areas for clinic and community visits. Mileage will be paid in line with our policies.

  • Access to our dedicated clinic space in Sheffield. Access to resources and assessments.

  • Commitment to reflective practice, professional development, and adherence to company policies is essential.

  • Clinical supervision will be provided.
Job Types: Part\-time, Permanent

Pay: £43,000\.00\-£47,000\.00 per year
