We are looking for a motivated and client\-focused Legal Advisor to join our Personal Injury team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and a passion for helping people.
Role Purpose
The post holder will be the first point of contact for clients seeking advice and support relating to personal injury claims. You will provide initial legal guidance, gather key information and support the progression of cases. Working within a regulated legal environment, you will ensure compliance with professional standards whilst delivering a positive client experience.
What you will be doing
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, obtaining instructions, assessing the nature of potential claims, and providing preliminary legal advice within the scope of the role.
- Support clients throughout the early stages of the claims process, ensuring a professional, empathetic, and client\-focused service is delivered at all times.
- Manage initial communications with clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Progress claims by instigating initial investigations, undertaking relevant searches, and liaising with third parties and medical agencies.
- Prepare and draft claim documentation, including Claims Notification Forms and other supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handle a number of files, under supervision, including Official Injury Claims (OIC) and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) claims, ensuring files are progressed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up\-to\-date records within the case management system and ensure all client information is recorded in accordance with internal procedures.
- Meet individual and team performance objectives, service level agreements, quality standards, and departmental targets within a fast\-paced environment.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service excellence, ensuring all interactions enhance the client experience and reflect the organisation's values.
- Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements, Data Protection legislation, internal policies, and regulatory obligations at all times.
- Contribute to the effective operation of the department by completing administrative tasks, supporting colleagues, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role when required.
Education and Qualification
- GCSE Maths and English Grades 4 – 9 (A\* – C).
- Law degree or similar qualification.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative environment.
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Programs and data bases.
- Previous experience in a legal practice, claims handling environment or personal injury role.
- Previous experience using case management systems.
- Strong customer service focus with a commitment to delivering positive client outcomes.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients.
- Professional and confident telephone manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong questioning, listening, and information\-gathering abilities.
- Ability to explain information clearly and sensitively.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance and high ethical standards.
