The West Midlands Solar Taskforce are a group of public and private entities united in aiming to drive the adoption of solar photovoltaics and batteries across the West Midlands. We are passionate about sustainability and disconnecting the electricity grid from fossil fuels and facilitating the deployment of solar PV at a greater scale and pace

We aim to engage with a wide range of businesses with diverse interests across the West Midlands, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, consultative and curious person to join our team to enthuse others, engage businesses and other organisations to adopt solar and batteries.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the West Midlands Solar Taskforce for as long as there is useful work to do, this is to deliver the objectives of the Taskforce as determined by EvoEnergy’s Chairman

This role is intended to suit graduates who are new to the industry or someone with a couple of years of experience in renewables, who is passionate to learn and grow in knowledge and confidence with our team into a sales / consultancy role.

We have flexible working arrangements but emphasise that much training and collaborative working will need regular in\-person communication with the team to progress. You will initially need to be able to travel to the office in Beeston, Nottingham regularly and have the means to travel there. It is also expected that you will organise and attend face to face meetings in the West Midlands.

Tasks

· Approach businesses and community organisations in the West Midlands to promote solar energy as a solution

· “Open doors” to enable engagement with solar companies to discuss potential projects

· Research and reach out to key stakeholders in businesses to ensure the right message lands with the right people

· Aid with conducting energy analysis to emphasise the benefits of PV and battery systems.

· To be organised, work with many different contacts simultaneously and manage every contacts expectations to ensure good service.

· Liaise and communicate with other organisations in the taskforce to coordinate and ensure a cohesive message over various public mediums including web and social media

· Preparation of marketing material and putting together presentations.

· Supporting arranging site surveys and end user meetings to discuss solar and battery technologies

· Enter key aspects of businesses contacted into a CRM and keep up to date.

· Aid with CRM population and lead qualification via telephone, email and in person

· Looking out for opportunities to spread the word through networking meetings, business gatherings, trade fairs etc.

· Work closely with the EvoEnergy team, the Chairman and other members of the West Midlands Solar taskforce.

Progression

· Learn how to open doors in businesses and prospect, to find interested parties

· Learn how to engage in the first stages of a consultative sales process to understand client’s renewable energy needs and wants.

· Learn about new innovations in Batteries, EV chargers, LV and HV infrastructure etc. and how they can best be implemented for end users

· Learn how to size up and price solar PV, battery and EV charging systems, understanding key nuances of site limitations

· Learn commercial acumen and lead analysis

· Learn how to present and connect with people at all levels of organisations to talk with confidence about your specialist subject area.

Qualifications

\- ONC\-HNC or Degree qualification

Skills Required

\- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, able to prepare a compelling argument and deliver it

\- Keen eye for detail

\- Ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

\- Conversant with social media and its impactful use

\- A degree of numeracy and analytical skills

\- Ability to think creatively about communication to reach out to many businesses \- and develop a strategy to implement it

\- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work accordingly

Ability to communicate clearly and through understanding others, persuasively to convey your message and represent the message

Experience

This role is not for a person with much experience but any or some of the following would be desirable:

\- Some experience working in the renewable energy sector

\- Some business\-to\-business sales experience or retail sales experience

\- Some use of social media platforms.

\- Some experience of writing documents presenting a scenario or case, or reasoned argument, from a business or educational angle.

\- Working in a team to achieve an outcome or solution

\- Experience of graphical design packages e.g. Canva

Pay: £15,600\.00\-£22,000\.00 per year
