Social Care Worker

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Care Worker to join our dedicated team and make a positive impact on the lives of those who use our services.
*Purpose of the Job*
To provide high\-quality care and support to older adults attending the day centre. The role involves promoting independence, wellbeing, dignity and social inclusion while supporting service users with travelling to and from the Centre, personal care where required, lunches and participation in meaningful social and recreational activities.
*Responsibilities*
Person centred support\- provide care and support in accordance with individual support plans. Promote independence, dignity and respect for all service users. Assist individuals to make choices and participate in decisions about their care.
Dayroom and environmental set up \- prepare and set up the dayroom and activity areas before service users arrive, arrange tables, chairs, equipment and materials required for daily activities. Ensure the dayroom is clean, safe, welcoming and suitable for service users. Assist with preparing and serving refreshments, snacks and meals. Assist with tidying, washing any dishes and resetting the dayroom at the end of the day.
Daily activities Plan and facilitate a range of activities that promote physical and mental wellbeing. Support service users to engage with activities such as crafts, games, exercises and community outings.
Personal care and support \- assist with personal care where required(e.g. toilet, mobility support, eating and drinking)Ensure comfort, safety and wellbeing of service users and ensure care is always delivered in a dignified and respectful manner.
Transport and escort duties \- Assist with welcoming service users on arrival and supporting them when entering and leaving the building as required. Passenger assistant duties on community transport.
Health and safety \- Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment. Report accidents, incidents or concerns to senior staff. Follow infection control and hygiene standards.
Communication and record keeping \- Communicate effectively with service users, families and colleagues. Maintain accurate records of care and daily activities. Assist with care planning\- complete reviews with service users and communicate any updates to senior staff.
Safeguarding \- Protect vulnerable adults by following safeguarding policies and procedures. Report any concerns about abuse immediately.
Teamwork \- work as part of a team to deliver high quality of care. Attend team meetings, supervision and training as required. Follow organisational policies, procedures and professional standards.

. Experience: Proven experience supporting older people, including those living with Dementia with a knowledge of adult care practicies.

. Qualifications: Must have a SVQ/NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it is Essential
