Summary
We are seeking a Site Services Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Great Britain. Based at our manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our mechanical systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our production processes.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance \& Technical Duties
· Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, inspections, examinations, and testing on mechanical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and hot/cold water systems.
· Read, understand, and apply technical diagrams, schematics, and manufacturers’ instructions.
· Undertake general maintenance activities in accordance with skill set and support colleagues where required.
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
· Repair, replace, and install building services equipment, fixtures, and mechanical components (including basic electrical work where competent).
· Perform a wide range of mechanical and plumbing repairs including preventative maintenance tasks.
· Maintain accurate records of all work completed, highlighting defects, risks, or areas requiring follow‑up.
· Escort and collaborate with specialist contractors when required, ensuring work meets Company standards.
· Participate in stock‑takes and support effective management of tools, materials, and spare parts.
· Conduct TPM activities in line with schedule.
On‑Call Requirements
Participate in the out‑of‑hours rota and respond appropriately to call‑out requirements to maintain essential site services.
Education \& Qualifications
- City \& Guilds 6035‑03
- City \& Guilds 6036‑03
- Experience working with commercial gas heating systems
- Good mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills
- HVAC safety certificate
- Welding and fabrication skills (MIG welding advantageous)
- Experience working on industrial doors (desirable)
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, crawling, prolonged standing, and manual handling.
- Skilled in the use and safe operation of power tools and responsible for tool security.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, documentation, and diagrams.
- Extensive knowledge of modern mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and civil engineering systems used in building and industrial environments.
- Understanding of engineering codes, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Competent in the use and care of standard engineering instruments.
