SEO Content Writer
My Car Import is one of the UK’s leading vehicle import specialists, helping private individuals, businesses and manufacturers import and register vehicles in the UK.
We are looking for a full\-time SEO Content Writer to join our team and take ownership of an organic growth project.
You will be creating detailed, genuinely useful guides for people who are actively looking to import vehicles into the UK, with a particular focus on customers relocating to the UK and people purchasing vehicles overseas.
The role
We are investing heavily in expanding our organic search presence and have already developed a detailed content strategy covering more than 100 high\-value articles, landing pages and guides.
Your job will be to turn that strategy into outstanding website content.
You will be given comprehensive content briefs covering the subject, search intent, recommended structure, questions to answer and sources to research.
You will then be expected to research the subject properly, understand it, and produce authoritative content that deserves to rank.
What you will be writing
Articles will typically be written for customers who are already considering importing a vehicle, so commercial intent and accuracy are extremely important.
What we are looking for
You should be an excellent writer who can take a complicated subject and explain it clearly.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong written English and excellent grammar
- Be able to research unfamiliar and technical subjects
- Understand how to structure long\-form online content
- Have a good understanding of SEO
- Understand search intent rather than simply inserting keywords
- Be comfortable using authoritative sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC and DVLA
- Be able to distinguish reliable information from poor\-quality online content
- Be organised and able to manage a large publishing schedule
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be comfortable asking our internal team technical questions where required
We have extensive internal knowledge, processes and content briefs available. What matters is your ability to research, learn and write accurately.
SEO experience
You should understand the fundamentals of organic search, including:
- Keyword and search\-intent targeting
- Page titles and headings
- Internal linking
- Content hierarchy
- Writing for people first while still understanding search engines
- Updating existing pages rather than creating unnecessary duplicate content
- Creating genuinely comprehensive content rather than thin AI\-generated articles
About My Car Import
My Car Import manages the vehicle import process from overseas collection and shipping through customs clearance, vehicle testing and DVLA registration.
We operate our own facilities in Castle Donington and have our own DVSA\-authorised IVA testing facility.
Our customers range from individuals moving to the UK with their own vehicle through to collectors, dealerships, manufacturers and commercial clients.
This gives the successful candidate direct access to people who deal with vehicle imports every day rather than relying solely on online research.
