The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our Production and Order Fulfilment functions.
This is a pivotal role within the business, responsible for ensuring our CMMs and Laser Scanners are built on time, to budget and to the required quality standards, whilst ensuring our Order Fulfilment and Logistics activities are managed efficiently and proactively.
You will lead and develop a diverse team, drive continuous improvement, and work closely with the wider Management Team to ensure we have the people, processes and resources needed to deliver our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As Production Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the Production \& Laser Scanner Teams, creating a culture of teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the Order Fulfilment Team, ensuring purchase orders and customer orders are processed and expedited on time.
- Plan and allocate resources across the Production operation to maximise utilisation and performance.
- Ensure scheduled work is completed within agreed timescales and to the required quality standards.
- Delegate and coordinate work effectively across the team.
- Monitor and report on team performance against agreed KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes and ways of working.
- Work closely with the Managing Director and HR Manager on the attraction, retention, and development of employees.
- Maintain high standards of health \& safety and housekeeping across areas of responsibility.
- Identify and communicate operational issues and concerns and liaise effectively with other departments and sites within the Group
- Lead, inspire and develop the team, supporting a positive and collaborative working environment.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong production management experience with excellent people and organisational skills.
Required Experience \& Competencies
Essential
- Previous experience managing people within a production/manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and allocate resources effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of CRM systems.
- Knowledge or experience of metrology systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Navision.
- A relevant electro/mechanical qualification.
You will be a confident and proactive manager who enjoys collaborating with people and improving the way things are done.
You’ll need to be able to balance the day\-to\-day demands of a busy production environment with a longer\-term focus on team development, efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
