The opportunity

VIP Gateway is building an ambitious in\-house SEO operation with the objective of becoming one of the strongest organic search brands in UK car leasing.

We're looking for an exceptional Senior SEO Content Writer who can combine:

Excellent writing \+ SEO expertise \+ commercial thinking \+ high\-volume production.

This is not a traditional blog\-writing position.

You will create and improve the pages responsible for attracting customers across thousands of commercially valuable searches.

That includes everything from:

"BMW lease deals"

to:

"best electric SUV"

to:

"personal lease vs PCP"

and potentially thousands of searches in between.

Your mission

Your job is to help VIP Gateway build the best organic content footprint in the UK car leasing market.

We want somebody capable of producing content at significant volume without allowing quality to deteriorate.

You'll work directly with our SEO Growth Manager to turn keyword opportunities into high\-performing commercial pages, guides, comparisons and automotive content.

You'll write for people first, while understanding exactly what search engines need in order to understand and rank a page.

What you'll write

The role will cover a wide range of content.

Commercial leasing pages

You'll write and optimise pages covering areas such as:

  • Personal car leasing

  • Business car leasing

  • Electric car leasing

  • In\-stock car leasing

  • Cheap car leasing

  • Manufacturer leasing

  • Vehicle model leasing

  • Body styles

  • Price ranges

  • Vehicle categories

  • Leasing offers
These are pages designed to generate customers, not simply traffic.

Manufacturer and vehicle content

You'll create high\-quality content for:

  • BMW

  • Mercedes\-Benz

  • Audi

  • Volkswagen

  • BYD

  • Tesla

  • Peugeot

  • Volvo

  • MG

  • Ford

  • And many more
As well as individual models and vehicle categories.

You'll be capable of turning vehicle specifications, pricing and customer needs into useful, readable commercial content.

Comparison content

You'll produce pages such as:

  • BMW iX1 vs Tesla Model Y

  • Leasing vs PCP

  • Leasing vs buying

  • EV vs petrol

  • Personal vs business leasing

  • Model vs model comparisons

  • Best cars within particular budgets
These pages need to genuinely answer the customer's question rather than simply exist for SEO.

Guides and expert content

You'll write educational content covering subjects including:

  • How car leasing works

  • Leasing terminology

  • Maintenance

  • Mileage

  • Initial rentals

  • Credit

  • EV charging

  • Running costs

  • Tax

  • Company cars

  • Vehicle technology

  • Lease returns

  • New vehicle launches
Our objective is to make VIP Gateway a trusted destination for people researching their next vehicle.

Updating existing content

A major part of winning SEO is not simply publishing new pages.

You'll regularly:

  • Improve existing pages

  • Refresh outdated information

  • Expand thin content

  • Rewrite underperforming pages

  • Improve headings

  • Strengthen introductions

  • Improve FAQs

  • Add useful comparisons

  • Improve internal linking

  • Optimise titles and metadata
You'll work from performance data rather than guessing what requires attention.

High\-volume content production

We operate a large automotive website.

That means volume matters.

You'll be expected to develop systems that allow us to consistently create and improve a significant amount of content.

However:

High volume does not mean low quality.

We're looking for somebody who can work efficiently while maintaining accuracy, usefulness and brand standards.

AI

You'll be encouraged to use AI intelligently.

AI can support:

  • Research

  • Outlining

  • Brief generation

  • First drafts

  • Content expansion

  • FAQs

  • Data processing

  • Idea generation

  • Content refreshes
But simply generating an article and pressing publish isn't acceptable.

You remain responsible for:

  • Accuracy

  • Tone

  • Structure

  • Originality

  • Usefulness

  • Commercial relevance

  • Quality control
You should see AI as a way to become an exceptionally productive writer, not a replacement for expertise.

SEO

You must understand SEO.

You should be comfortable with:

  • Search intent

  • Keyword research

  • Keyword clustering

  • On\-page SEO

  • Titles

  • H1/H2 structures

  • Internal linking

  • Semantic relevance

  • Featured snippets

  • FAQs

  • Search Console

  • Content optimisation tools

  • Competitor analysis

  • Content decay

  • Cannibalisation
But you must understand why you're writing a page and what it needs to achieve.

Commercial writing

The best\-performing SEO page is pointless if nobody enquires.

You'll therefore think about:

  • Customer psychology

  • Calls to action

  • Value propositions

  • Offers

  • Trust signals

  • Conversion

  • Customer objections
We want somebody capable of writing for both Google and the customer who's considering spending hundreds of pounds a month on a vehicle.

Research

Accuracy is essential.

You'll regularly research:

  • Vehicle specifications

  • Manufacturers

  • New model releases

  • EV ranges

  • Charging times

  • Pricing

  • Vehicle technology

  • Government policy

  • Leasing rules

  • Competitor offerings
You must be comfortable validating information rather than simply repeating whatever appears in an AI\-generated draft.

Working with data

You'll increasingly work with structured vehicle information.

That may include:

  • Model

  • Derivative

  • Engine

  • Fuel type

  • Range

  • CO2

  • Monthly leasing price

  • Body style

  • Availability

  • Lease structure
You'll work alongside our SEO and technical teams to turn this information into high\-quality scalable content.

What we're looking for

Ideally you will have:

  • 4\+ years' professional writing experience

  • Significant SEO content experience

  • Excellent written English

  • Excellent proofreading skills

  • Strong understanding of search intent

  • Commercial copywriting ability

  • Experience creating content that ranks

  • Experience using SEO tools

  • Excellent research skills

  • Ability to produce high volumes of work

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Comfortable working with AI

  • Strong attention to detail
Highly desirable

We would particularly like to hear from writers with experience in:

  • Automotive

  • Personal finance

  • Ecommerce

  • Comparison websites

  • Technology

  • Financial services

  • Travel

  • Large content websites

  • Programmatic SEO

  • High\-volume content operations
Automotive experience is desirable but not essential.

Exceptional SEO writing ability is more important.

The person we're looking for

You don't believe SEO writing means stuffing keywords into an article.

You understand search intent.

You can recognise a weak SERP result and immediately see how to create something better.

You're naturally curious.

You enjoy research.

You care about accuracy.

You're extremely productive.

You're comfortable having your work measured.

You want to know:

Did it rank?

Did traffic increase?

Did customers engage?

Did it generate enquiries?

You're also comfortable rewriting your own work when the data shows something isn't working.

What success looks like

Within your first year we'd expect:

  • Hundreds of new and improved pages

  • Significant increases in ranking keywords

  • Improved rankings across commercial searches

  • Increased organic traffic

  • Stronger manufacturer and model pages

  • Improved informational content

  • Increased internal linking coverage

  • Regular refreshing of declining content

  • A repeatable high\-volume content production process

  • Organic content that contributes directly to leads and sales
The opportunity

You'll be joining while we're building the SEO operation.

That gives you the opportunity to influence how the entire content function works.

You'll work directly with our SEO Growth Manager and alongside:

  • Paid acquisition

  • Performance creative

  • Marketing automation

  • Developers

  • Product teams

  • Senior leadership
We're investing heavily in building our digital acquisition capabilities and want SEO to become a major long\-term growth channel.

We're not looking for somebody who can simply produce content.

We're looking for someone who can produce content that wins search traffic and turns that traffic into customers.

You should be able to tell us what you wrote, what happened after it was published and how you measured success.

Pay: £30,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension

  • On\-site parking
