Senior Project Manager

About the role

Location: Keadby, North Lincolnshire (site based)

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major 132/400kV substation project at Keadby. This is a high\-profile opportunity to take ownership of a complex power infrastructure scheme, leading multidisciplinary teams through design, construction, commissioning and handover.

As Senior Project Manager, you'll provide strategic leadership across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring safety, programme, commercial performance and quality objectives are achieved. You'll act as the focal point between our client, supply chain and project teams whilst creating a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the safe and successful delivery of a major high\-voltage substation project from inception through to completion.


• Owning project performance across safety, programme, commercial, quality and operational outcomes.


• Managing and developing a multidisciplinary team including Project Managers, Engineers, Construction Managers and Design Managers.


• Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.


• Driving programme certainty and ensuring resources, procurement activities and construction works are aligned to delivery objectives.


• Leading project reviews, governance activities, reporting and risk management processes.


• Ensuring robust financial forecasting, cost control and project reporting.


• Promoting a culture of Zero Harm and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.


• Identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement.


• Supporting the growth and development of future leaders within the project team.

We're seeking a proven project leader with experience delivering large\-scale infrastructure projects within the power, utilities, transmission, energy or heavy civil engineering sectors.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience managing complex, high\-value engineering or infrastructure projects.


• Previous experience delivering substation, transmission, distribution, power generation, renewables or major utilities projects.


• Strong commercial and contractual awareness with responsibility for project budgets and financial performance.


• Experience leading large multidisciplinary delivery teams.


• Excellent stakeholder management skills and a track record of building strong client relationships.


• A detailed understanding of project governance, risk management and programme controls.


• The ability to drive performance, influence at all levels and lead teams through challenging project environments.


• A passion for developing people and creating high\-performing teams.

Desirable

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.


• Professional membership with a recognised institution.


• NEC contract experience.


• Experience working on National Grid, SSEN, SPEN or other transmission network projects.
